M151 park brake

Post by ldj1002 » Mon Mar 14, 2022 3:37 pm

My park brake handle adjustment was rusted where it couldn't be moved. I got torch and got it all freed up. I noticed when cleaning it up looked like some residue from brazing, didn't think too much about until reassembling and it won't work. If I brazed right where I noticed those spots it would hold those parts and it should work. Anyone confirm this?

I would not be trying to patch together brake parts! Especially when they are readily available. Is this on the band or the linkage? Most any surplus dealer that has used parts will have those parts, in one piece. Possibly even NOS. The bands are definitely available new.
