George, He does not have a directional switch hooked up on the vehicle. The switch he shows in that picture does not look like the right switch to me. I am going to look at the ones I have here once I go out. It is going to be brutally hot here today.

Is that an early controller with the flasher in the end of the lever?, it carries the same part # as the newer ones.

Well, it doesn't help River Ranger but it does help me.....

I've had a photo of a strange-looking turn signal but I've never been able to pin down the type / manufacturer. Now I think it's the same as RR has. It's a rare one....made by Swiss Controls....the folks who produced the electronic ignition module.

That's the one I was thinking about, someone was looking for the flasher bulb not long ago, wouldn't it be compatible with the system?

I have to check mine, I am not sure if it has the screw on connector on the back. I want to say it does since I think I tested mine on my A1 when I was playing around with all my signal units. But he is holding a wire with it so I am not sure what he has.

Ken,
I had that same turn signal control on my first M151A1 which I purchased in the mid 1980s. As I recall, it was a 67? Ford. When I finished my 66 Ford almost a decade ago, I was looking for that same controller to no avail. Rick F sent me one. The lens on the stalk had some minor age issues which wasn't a problem for me, as I was aware of it and purposely avoided whacking the lens end of the stock to signal. I would use the body of the stalk to actuate the controller. My big concern was always the ignoramuses at events that have no boundaries concerning other people's vehicles and treated gear shifts, switches and other controls like a jungle gym. Recently, due to another post here, I became aware that Brian Asbury has replacement lenses for that controller.

I sent you that one? Glad you said that, I would have been out there looking forever for it.  I don't remember if I have another early one or not.

Dave and Rick....

This is the type that was fitted to my A2 when I got it. I haven't seen more than two or three others like this.It does have the big Bendix screw-on connector as you can see.

He has no switch in the circuit at all. I think that is the problem. I can see someone modified the starter circuit to use an electric solenoid so who knows what else has been changed.
