temp sensor

Post by mytmight » Tue Apr 27, 2021 6:39 pm

Hello, has anyone ever used a different temp sensor on their m151 like a 2 wire sensor from a humvee?
I would like to run 1 lead to a gauge and 1 lead to run an electric fan.

I am not familiar with the Humvee setup but I don't know of any sensor that does both resistance and on/off at the same time. The diesel in the Humvee has several temp sensors that control glow plugs, fans and gauges. It can be done easily with an aftermarket sensor that slides into the radiator fins and then you run your wires through a relay to the fan from that. You can also get a sleeve that adds into the lower coolant line and a sensor goes in there and you can work from there. There aren't really any other plugs in the 151 engine that I can remember where you can add another sensor.
