Hi all,
I just started to swap my worn and torn A1 harness for a much nicer A2 harness. In doing so I found a circut #10 wire going to the starter floor switch. There is no circut 10 on the A2 harness and on the two wiring diagrams I have, one for A1 and one for A2 there is no circut 10 goingto the starter floor switch. Does anyone know where this came from on the original harness and or why it's there? Another question on the same line is since I'm moving over to an A2 harness and there is no connection for the oil pressure shut off will that cause me issues or will I need to modify something for that to work properly?
Many thanks in advance!
Paul

There is no circuit #10 on a 151. You would have to go here https://olive-drab.com/od_mseries_circuits.php And check numbers.
#10 is a Ammeter or shunt feed to instrument panel circuit breakers according to the military numbers but that does not work on the 151. You should have a #5 wire at the starter switch. The electric fuel pump circuit is the #77 circuit and will not be in that harness, you will need to add it in or use the wires from your old harness. Some people use the electric wiper feed from the A2 harness to feed the fuel pump but be aware that if you do that the pump will be on any time the switch is on, no safety switch. Something else you will find is that the A2 harness is set up for a 60 amp alternator and with the exception of the last year A1 they all came with 25 amp generators with an external regulator. If that is what you have you are going to have to adapt the wiring for that also.

Re: Circut number 10 151A1/151A2 harness
Thanks for the reply Rickf. I have an external electric 12v fuel pump so will not need the 77 circut at all. I just want to make sure by not having any wires attached to the oil pressure shut off switch that there will be no issues. Also I understand there should be no #10 circut but there was one, on the same post as the number 5 on the starter, which raised my question. So it sounds like I should be good either way. As for the 60 amp wiring I am running a 24v civilian alt... I am not entirely sure of the amps on that.... so I may run into an issue.

I can help you with the military wiring and my specialty when I had my shop was carburetors and electrical so I can help with the cililian wiring but when you start mixing and matching .............. I can still help but at that point I either need to be there or I need lots of pictures and a phone number. I used to have property in Benton, New Hampshire but sold it years ago like a fool. But it is too cold up there this time of year for me anymore.
