60 amp generator
My m 151a2 generator stop charging several months ago . How do I remove it. I have a spare but no way to test it without installing it in the mutt. Help. Mike

The easiest way to remove it is by removing the barcket that it pivots on from the block. You can get to it by going beneath the alternator itself and then removing the tensioning bracket. Removing the air cleaner will give you much better access to everything.
The 60 amp alternator has a bad habit of blowing out it's regulator. By removing the 6 screws on the rear of the alternator the regulator pulls out as an assembly. They're available for around $60 online or directly from Southern Automotive for about twice that. Southern Automotive has a great troubleshooting and repair website online. The alternator is an AMA5014. While your in there take a look at the brush block for wear and blow out any carbon dust from the housing.
