ok, I pulled out the manifolds today just to see if there was anything obvious. Nothing blocked, good air flow through the muffler and out the tail pipe Yes, the gaskets for the intake manifold are there and new. There is no lining up the holes on the exhaust manifold. There is no varying how the exhaust manifold can go on because of how it's bolted to the block. The timing is correct, the carb adjustment is correct, it runs good but within 30 seconds of it being started the exhaust manifold just above where it's bolted to the exhaust pipe turns bright red. I'm at a dead end with this.

Even though you say all is correct, without actual numbers this is very difficult.

hi

if you turn the rotorarm a bit by hand is it go back to the first position from it self
if not the advance is not ok
you can also check it with the adjusting light rev the engine up it must advance
rev it down to idle again it must go to the timing nodge
