M151A1 Canvas top mod
I have a 1968 USMC A1 with an original canvas top I think. It has the two windows in the rear but the top has an access hole with cover for the gun mount and a three zippered "gunners " hatch. Are these part of a contract or is this a motor pool mod? Thanks in advance.

Re: M151A1 Canvas top mod
How the heck would anyone fire the gun sticking up through the top? without the gun mounted, the mount doesn't stick up through the top, so this sounds like a real winner of a top, but not stock.

Rick thanks for the info on it being a non contract custom cover. It allows the weapon to be mounted on the outside of the top cover with a zippered hatch for the operator to gain access without removing the entire top.

Could you send a pic of your top. I’ve been thinking about doing this with my top.
