Contact Brook Engine in FL.
Only one i know who is doing it at this point.
Been asking Rick to offer the service but so far no luck.
May be in his retirement he will change his mind.

Brooks in Clearwater, FL did mine. I believe it cost me around $250 and I did not have an exchange carb to give him. Worth every penny, the rebuilt carb was the answer to all my idle and running carb problems. I am going to purchase a second for back-up.

I probably will get into doing the carb rebuilds but I need to get some equipment first. My rebuilds now are functional rebuilds, they are new inside where it counts but the outside looks just like it did when you sent it to me. Nobody wants that, they want one that looks brand new and I am not set up to do that right now. I also need cores, in order to run a rebuild operation you need rebuildable cores because half of the ones people send you are not going to be any good. I most likely will start making bushings to repair worn throttle bores, that is the most common problem with the M151 cores.

I can't find Brooks anymore in Florida. Anyone know if he's still around or anyone that does quality rebuilds?

Look for Brooks Engine service. I am doing rebuilds but I need a good core to do it. And I do not make them all nice and shiny like a show car carburetor. I do functional rebuilds.

I got a whole bucket of carbs with my 60 (along with probably enough stuff to build another truck). I think 8 or so. Hopped in it last night, full choke, started right up. Adjusted choke down to about a quarter inch and took off. Ran like a champ the entire time.

Had a nice long conversation with Billy Brooks this morning. He's still doing these carbs but is semi retired and sold his machine shop. $300 plus the ride for his service as of today.

I get a lot less than that but like I said, my carbs like like a standard carb when they come back to you. I do not bead blast them to make them shiny.

Do you test each carb on an engine before sending them back?

I did up till My tranny leaked all the oil out, I would put the carb on my A1 and drive it to be sure the flat spot is gone and all things are in order. Since I have not had any carb work recently I have not been any hurry to set up a stand or fix the leak. But all my work is guaranteed, if you have a problem you send it back at my cost and I fix it. Since Zenith has been constantly raising prices on the kits I have finally had to raise my price so I have not been real active in searching for work. I do not advertise. My advertising is word of mouth.
