I am trying to narrow down at what point did Ford eliminate the drivers side fresh air vent on the MUTT. My MUTT has a delivery date of May 1961 and a serial number of 2C 1346. I have the driver's side vent. A friend of mine has a MUTT with a delivery date of June 1962, serial number 2D 3984. He does not. Please let me know if you have a MUTT in-between by delivery date, hood number and whether you have that fresh air vent. Thanks, Kevin.

I have a 1960 m151, it has an air vent on each side of the cowl

I have two M151’s and both of them were made in 4-62. The hood numbers are 2D2032 and 2D1843. Neither one has a the drivers side air vent, only a passenger side vent.

The Fresh air vent was part of the hot water cabin heater, if the heater was not installed the vent was not installed.

The fresh air vent in question is the one on the drivers side. It was not connected to the heater on the passenger side. The passenger side had a factory fresh air vent until it was eliminated starting on serial number 2G-0668. This number represents the first production M-151A1 that Ford made under a three year contract. That contracted ended Kaiser Jeep's 18 month contract. It was awarded 15 Feb 1964 and production started in the Dec 64/Jan 65 time frame. A new hot water heater kit (FSN 2540-764-5917) was introduced that was smaller than the old one and did not require an outside vent. The old heater kit (FSN 2540-786-3871) had to have the fresh air vent to operate. It cannot be used on MUTT's that do not have a vent.
