I'm just cleaning up my GSS-14 to mount on a hvy. steel table in a M-416 with a 28V genset and batts. It works perfectly and throws a pencil beam 5 miles. The more you learn about this unit, the more attractive it gets. GOK what it would cost today. The unit will be for sale shortly, all or part. John in Ft. Lauderdale.

All;
The owner of the M151 pictured above is me, Stanley Steamer. Another pic, also taken by others, is on pg 2 of this thread.

I have more Search Lights, both Jeep w/trunion and tank, ~VVS 1, and later tank, as VVS 3, tested before sale, plus parts.

Advise if you have interest.

I kind of forgot about htis thread. I've been fooling around with a HMMWV I acquired.

Plan to get back on the 151 searchlight soon as weather gets better. About 85 percent there so far.

Any sources for the 180 amp setup? I have a 100 amp setup from an airforce 151 - think it was a commo application.

Thought it might work but seeing the amp draw of 140 amps for this light, kind of doubt it now.

Anyone try a 200 amp hmmwv alternator in a 151 to power this light?

Might be a possibility...

I need a Power connector (2-pin) MS3100 series for the GSS-14. I will need maybe 3 of them, with or without cable. I am fixing up a few of our lights.

Stanley Steamer,

Can you post pics of the cabling for the light? Do cables go from rectifier pos and neg to the batteries?

I also need to know how the output from the regulator gets into the wiring harness. I may need to build the regulator ouput cable....

Thanks,
D

I found a manual TM-11-2300-351-15-3 which is the actual installation manual for the AN/VSS-1 in a 151.

Anyone have. A copy they would like to sell, trade or let me borrow to scan?

Thanks,
D

Anyone remember Charlie Adams from Massachusetts, his searchlite equipped M-151 was quite popular in the Mass. area shows of the 80's.
