Thanks for the compliment. I guess I really shouldn’t be posting it here since it is not all original or painted with the stars and bars look. It still is all Dodge as far as the running gear is concerned. I see you have a ‘45 CJ2A. Does it still have the column shift tranny and full floating axle? I learned to drive on a 1946 CJ2A with the column shift. It is still in the family and running strong. Have a nice day, :)

Your truck
Deserves a better photo shoot!

Meaning take it out away from the house, and in a natural setting.
The shadows also take away from the details of this awesome build.

The engine looks super clean and very nice

I prefer original myself, but that is super nice! You worked hard to get it like that. I know, I've been off and on working on my '41 for 12 years now. Its still not finished.
How much work was it to put the longer engine in?

Thanks for the compliment guys. Installation of 25” motor not difficult at all. Weld 2 3/8”thick plates on the floating power engine mount that reach back to to frame mounts. Move radiator 2” forward on the radiator support using threaded rod, nuts and washers. Bend lower radiator air deflector to fit on radiator support and your done.

Nice job on your WC, it's beautiful! Color doesn't matter to me, as long as these old MVs are being kept alive :D

I am a BIG BIG fan of tachometers Doze!! Your first pic. made me exclaim, OHH!! I gotta get me one. What is the displacement of the engine, 251 or 265? That engine compartment sure looks nice too!! I'd be proud to drive that truck around town!!

The Tach is a Sun model D-1 powered by a Sun EB-2 transmitter box. The hardest part to find is the lighting set up for these tach’s. It took me years to find one in decent shape. Dodge had these Tach’s listed as optional equipment on their 46-47 heavy duty truck line. The motor is a T-118 IND-7 236.6 Industrial. It was originally powering a WWII era Hobart welder. The welder took a poop and I was able to pick it up for $100.00. It has the VPW longer duration cam, ported and statically balanced. The Spitfire Head is out of a 1941 Chrysler. It’s a real smooth runner. I do have a 1940 Chrysler high compression aluminum head which has been shaved some for a little more pop which I may install one of these days. As I tell people who ask me questions about it, “The wife goes before the truck”. :D

Dozer- I feel obligated to paint my WC in correct OD, but I want Panzer Gray Gloss! Your paint shade is beautiful- I just wish I had the cojones to go against the grain as well

You have to make a decision on the paint. Hey, I think panzer grey gloss would be an awesome color. Like I say, OD is great, but it’s nice to be different. My paint is a mid 70’s ferd metallic green and early 70’s mopar gold. By the way, thanks for your service. My son is a Navy Chief with a rating of Rescue Swimmer/Crewchief on MH-60’s. His squadron recently did some joint exercises with USAFpj’s off Okinawa. He said it was great. Later this month he sails out on the Ronnie Reagan for a 6 month cruise to keep an eye on you know who.

Not sure why I'm drawn to it, but man I love different! Dozer- I had a Spitfire in my WC25 years ago- like yours, the previous owner did a beautiful job of installing it.
