Note the different treads on the clutch and brake pedals. The coarse tread on the brake pedal is later. The Rubber Gas Pedal is early CCKW thru 1942. The "pink" knob on the Cowl Vent control is NOS from 40's Civilian Chevrolet/GMC stock. Instrunents are all AC. The OEM H-700 keyed ignition switch helps keep the curious from starting the Jimmy.
Jimmy was the popular nick name used by WWII Veterans who drove these, "Deuce and a Half" nickname is late 50's Viet Nam reference to the 2-1/2 Ton 6X6. The Closed Cab CCKW and the Chevy 4X4 will toss you around when driving off road if you weigh under 175 pounds, It was the same for all GMC's with the 1574/1608 Cabs. The kids enjoy it tho. The Closed Cab CCKW and 4X4 Chevrolet have no tolerance for "Beer Bellies". If you can "talk Jeep", you can learn to talk CCKW, they both hold a great place in MV history

Hi Ben,
Well, with the way this Coronavirus CCF is spreading in the US, who knows how far any of us will be able to drive our military vehicles this spring or even summer for that matter. . We have a “Shelter in order” in Calif. so I am hesitant to take my WC out for a run even with fuel prices as low as they are.

“Shelter in place” order. Not “Shelter in order”.

Ben, I need to be in your line of thinking. Watching all this CV stuff gets you down man. I have now decided to only watch the late news. You overload if you get to much of it. Anyway hope you get truck out and have it cruising the dirt roads and the good old two lane blacktop this Spring. If you were not so far away, I would drive the WC out to visit you. Being where I am, that would be quite a road trip although I do have confidence that the Dodge would make it..... just don’t know if my Body would make it. . Stay safe and healthy.

Re: CCKW COMMAND PILOT SEAT
Anyone notice the different treads on the brake and clutch?
NOS Transmission Shift Cover Assembly is for a Studebaker US-6, it is same as CCKW.
