Need help identifying part

Post by captndavie » Sun Nov 12, 2023 5:52 pm

This is a shifter for an unknown application. The military junkyard it came out of was full of 40's and 50's era military vehicles. They had Jeeps, Dodges and even some DUKWs. After the owner passed we got to pilfer through the remnants of what was left after some dealers had been through. All that was left was headed for scrap. This was probably 20 years ago as best as I can remember. This shifter some how ended up in the stuff I got and I have never been able to figure out what it went to. The linkage, though it has no paint on it, does have some green paint at the mounting point. The handle could have possibly been longer and been shortened as it has a small round flat "knob" welded on the end. If anyone could identify the application for this shifter I would appreciate it.

Looks like a PTO engagement lever or perhaps a Dump bed lock. Not a Dodge, might be CCKW perhaps, but I don't have one sitting around.
Might try on-line images of PTO levers search to narrow it down.
