I would like to start a picture thread showcasing Mutt radio sets, mounts and antennas. I hope we can get a good picture library to show the different set-ups and radio sets. This will be a help to people who want to install radios in their M151's and they can see how it all comes together and what was used when and where. Thanks, Bob

Weren't the 77's gone by the time the KY encryption sets came out? I see you have the enclosure for the encryption unit. I don't know how accurate you are trying to get, those enclosures are nice for protection.

I bought the 77 as you see it. You might be right on the KY57; I think the KY38 went with the 77's. Like you say the enclosure is good for protection (and looks).

Just put an RT-524 in my A2. I added an LS-454 speaker, a TS-2609 Bird wattmeter and a neat H-250 handset holder.

I had a GRC-213 in it last year. If I find a pic of that I will post it.

Nice to see the radio sets installed. Keep em coming, I know they will be a source of inspiration and reference. I look at the details and always see ideas forming in my head. Bob

Rickf We had a KY57 on the Commanders jeep in 1984 in Germany, 77's were still in use up to the 90's when Sincgars (sp) came out. The TOW jeep and ITV's had only a PRC-77 in the AM-2060 mount so they could dismount the whole TOW and hump it, that wasn't replaced for years. Still had requirement to talk secure and the manual showed how to hook it up properly, etc.
Can't remember which version KY-13? (Pronounced 'Kick' 13) filled the KY57 with the daily codes.

Learn something new (or old in this case) every day. I was not a radio guy. Being a Ranger we were trained in the basics but that was about it. basic comms to get your butt out of trouble or call in a strike. I never had to use the radio, I humped the 60.
