Wartime photos of British Royals
As its the 70th Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth 2 for us in the UK, I thought I would see if any photos of her in a jeep came up during an internet search . I didn't do very well though and could only find a photo of her standing in front of an Austin Utility - but non Jeep. I had more luck with her Mother though. The other photo shows her mother riding in a US jeep with an American officer in Northern Ireland in 1942 .

Not wartime when she was a Princess, but, here, her Majesty is in the most ridiculous jeep ever seen while she was inspecting the Canadian troops.conrod6 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 10:56 pmAs its the 70th Jubilee celebrations for Queen Elizabeth 2 for us in the UK, I thought I would see if any photos of her in a jeep came up during an internet search . Re: Wartime photos of British Royals
Hi Barrie, in the book "The Wartime Jeep in British Service" by Gavin Birch are a couple of pictures of the then King and Queen and early jeeps on pages 16 to 19.
Yves, wat a great find of the Royal Review jeep. It must have been a predecessor of the Royal Review Land-Rovers used later. They went a bit OTT with the wings / fenders on it, though...and by the look on her face, Her Majesty must have thought the same

A shame!
I’m wondering what the driver has in front of his eyes.

I wonder where it is today.
It might be ugly, but I bet it's worth a pretty penny if it survived.
