Hello all,
I have a 1944 GPW that I purchased back in 2012. Currently I have it stenciled/marked up for the Baker Company, 309th Infantry Regiment, 78th Infantry Division as that was the unit my Great Uncle served with during WWII. I am currently Army EOD and looking to re-stencil my GPW to match some Bomb Disposal Jeeps of WWII. I have only been able to find 2 WWII era pictures and 1 current owners Jeep stenciled up. I am seeing if anyone had any other pictures or information for proper markings for a WWII Bomb Disposal/BDS MB/GPW? From what I have gathered the British had their fenders, grille, and lower windscreen portion painted red and had "Bomb Disposal or BDS" on the windshield under the glass but was this common practice for U.S. MBs/GPWs as well? From the 2 pictures I have found only "Bomb Disposal" was written on under the windshield glass.
Thank you! Below are the 3 pictures I am working off of so far.

Re: Bomb Disposal / BDS Markings
The red fenders are consistent with vehicles used in EOD service.
