I have bought a very interesting book : Liberty Roads (Red Ball Express) from Nicolas Aubin.
And I wanted to share the pleasure I had to read that book with so many amazing photos.
The book can no longer be found in French, so I have bought the same in English, translated by Lawrence Brown.
Hard cover and 224 pages!
I was overcharged like hell (VAT, admin fees, and duties) due to the Brexit ! It's much cheaper on A'mzon.com .
That's really a magnificent book with many nice photos and tons of data related to the extraordinary achievement of the U.S Army in the ETO regarding logistics.
But the history starts before WWII
I advise those interested in the logistics aspects during WWII to read that book. For me that's a must have.
Two pages as an illustration of my post.
Back Cover page
Happy reading!
Yves

That book sounds interesting. My CCKW is a European Return after service in WWII and then service in the Army of the Netherlands.

That book is a nice illustrated history of the logistics in the ETO.
Starting from bureaucracy and ending to efficiency during combats.
It is really a good complement, more easy to read, to the historical books written by Lida Mayo and Harry C Thomson of the Center of the Military History, shortly after WWII.
Titles
THE ORDNANCE DEPARTMENT: ON BEACHHEAD AND BATTLEFRONT
THE ORDNANCE DEPARTMENT - PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY
Also to read :
THE TRANSPORTATION CORPS: OPERATIONS OVERSEAS by Joseph Bykofsky and Harold Larsoll
THE QUARTERMASTER CORPS: OPERATIONS IN THE WAR AGAINST GERMANY by William F. Ross and CooTies F. Romanus
These heavy books are available for download fro free from the U.S. Library of Congress.
