South African Jeeps..
Here are two jeeps I restored. Both full CJ2A Chassis , engine and drivetrain....but with SA built repro tubs. Everything else outsourced or scratchbuilt. Yes..they are highly "unoriginal"...however I wanted to reproduce the feel of the original without declaring bankrupcy, as parts here (In SA) are virtually unobtainable.
First Jeep is modelled on a Pacific wartime jeep, US Army Air Corps
Second is modelled on an M38 jeep used in Berlin by the US military police, and would be seen in and around the area. reference was many pics online that gave me guidance.
As exactness was unobtainable...I hope that these two jeeps give at least a feel of what the original would have been like.
Best regards from sunny South Africa!
