Random backyard photo

Post by Lee Bishop » Fri Jun 21, 2019 9:54 am

I was loading my 1944 MB onto a trailer to take it to the Olympia airshow and I decided to drive it into the unmowed (I just mowed it the night before last) back 40 and take this shot with my cell. I like how it turned out:

You do a lot better then I do with photo composition, Lee.

I was trying to match a photo taken at Camp Pendleton back in 1944 and it shows the jeep... but it is kind of flat.

I disagree, Mark, your shot is quite good!
But I do agree that composition can make a difference. In my case, I've been taking photos of stuff like this ever since I was a kid, and I usually try for angles that most wouldn't think of.
Also, I was trying to avoid the houses way in the back (we have 1.5 acres in an old prairie and the house is right up front with all that flat space in the back).

One of my favorite photos of my vehicle.

WW II Battle of the Bulge First Sergeant - his, now mine - at his funeral. :(

No filters - nothing special from the photographer (actually a member of our Color Guard)

Just a picture of - BUDS MB

My GPW today at the river Rhine just a mile from my home. (folding canoe in the back, in case anybody is wondering what the big bag is about)
Color is reduced to almost B&W.
