Photo above is in front of the Victor Emmanuel II monument in Rome. Jeep may be a French jeep, based upon the flag insignia on the bumper. Looks like there also might be a red cross painted on the hood. Not sure about the uniform. Who knows which army this woman served in?
Other photo is from Mash the TV show not the Mash movie.

Yes, it's the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II in Roma.
But I guess its a French army jeep, isn't it?

It may very well be a French army jeep. I don't know that American jeeps were given over to the Italians at that time. The "tri-color flag" (if that is what it it) seems to be blue white and red, not green white and red. The first color panel is much darker than the red panel. I think if it were green (Italian) it would be the same value (grey) as the red.
I think the uniforms are American, possibly Red cross volunteers, as I looked up some. Or... are those lapel patches???

Thanks,I've corrected the caption in the post.

A Jeep is definitely a good background for a photo.
Here, two dames, (most likely twin's) with David Scherman (WWII American photojournalist) sitting in a jeep behind them, in Cherbourg, 1944.

That shot could have been taken by Lee Miller who was accompanying D. Scherman in Cherbourg and St. Malo.

Another war correspondent in the PTO.
In fact, two war correspondents, husband and wife.
Percy and Barbara Finch of Reuters News Agency in Guam.

Barbara Finch was the correspondent aboard Navy Nurse Kendeigh’s flight to and from Okinawa.
Jane Kendeigh, Navy Flight Nurse, was a "great Dame" and the first nurse to land on Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
She was just 22 when she landed on Iwo Jima  !
Jane_Kendeigh_Navy_Flight_Nurse_WWII.jpg

Barbara Finch described Kendeigh's work in a paper :
"Finch reported her perceptions of the flight, which carried 29 wounded Marines from the [Okinawa] battlefield.
A Marine with a compound fracture in his left arm and a bullet wound through his neck was the flight’s most serious case.
Ensign Kendeigh fed him through a tube on the flight to Guam.
Finch was impressed that Kendeigh “found time for everything—to chat with men as well as watch temperatures, give sedatives, to change bandages".
She even inspected the unexploded artillery shell that a Marine colonel fought doctors to allow him to carry on board the plane as a reminder that he was “living on borrowed time” because it did not explode after landing near him on the battlefield"
