Interesting that there's black out lights on the car behind her.

Appears to be a square-headed adjusting bolt on the mirror arm, and the windshield thumbscrew has been replaced with a bolt. Early black sheller steering wheel. Is that a US Navy uniform with no rank or other insignia? Lots of info in such a simple picture.
There was a active US Navy submarine base at Fremantle, near Perth in Western Australia. The US Navy employed local people as drivers. Car behind is a 1941 Chevy sedan with blackout covers on the headlights - probably a US Navy staff car. The Australian motor industry supplied vehicles to the US forces in Australia under the reverse Lend-Lease program.

When reversed, bottom of photo states:
"Miss V. Annear. Communications Driver USN 28 . (unreadable) . 42"

And note the cars are parked on opposite sides of street (US/Europe style) with steering wheel on what US would call passenger side, narrowing down those possibilities for sure.

It's actually the bottom portion with text reversed and Cropped down to emphasize the point and save bandwidth, but it's all good to me.

Not a Navy uniform Jeff. And I should know. Good work on spotting the Crosley a few messages back. Crimson book says only 70nCrosley ultra lites were made and I believe they used the early 2 cylinder air cooled engine from the late 30's early 40's.
