Here are a couple of Jeep Dames hanging ou for a photo shoot:
Nice. Lots of comments and information about that jeep on a UK website :
The Pre-50 American auto club embraced US military vehicles from its start and collectors such as Pete Gray & Tony Oliver brought vehicles to the annual Rally of the Giants held at Shottesbrooke, nr Maidenhead Berks.
To promote the show, the late John Carter would get the Maidenhead Advertiser to put a half page photo on their back page the week before the Rally.
This is from August 1969, 3 wives of club officials perched on a Jeep: Pauline Burnell, Doreen Thorpe , & Linda Carter in the driving seat. The Jeep belonged to Nick Johns.
There may one or two out there who will remember the RoG.
Nick Johns
Well what a surprise to see that old photo, my original Ford Jeep RPH 521.
I paid £35 for it in 1967, alas it no longer survives, it was never the same after competing in the UK's first off road rally the Welsh Hillrally in 1971

Hi Nick,

It has signs of being an ex-British Army one.

Hello Ray
I don’t know except for Mrs Jean Lindow-Huey.
She was on the iconic photo of the last jeep assembled in Louisville.
A Ford employee in Louisville has tried to recreate the photo two years ago, but unfortunately Jean died before.(covid victim)
Here is a link to that story.

Hello Yves,

That was a great story in general, and it says she was happy and nostalgic about those days.
What a Ford Family, with them all working there during the War effort.
I wonder if the driver is still around ?
I am glad Ford made the effort and located her and her family.

Best Regards,
Ray

Emily Osborne works an eighty acre farm north of Albert Lea; she is shown here checking the oil in her jeep - 1952

Actually, it's a couple of guys, Frenchmen to be precise, IMO
You can see the cross of Lorraine on the tank in the background.
These are perhaps men of the 2nd French armored Div who were active in the liberation of Paris.
