Check out the "rake" on that windshield!
Hi Jeff’ I don’t know that expression « rake ».
Is that the windshield angle?
I don’t see anything else remarkable with that windshield.
Thanks
Yves

In about 30 clicks, that thread will reach ...
100.000 views  !

It's time to remind the first beautiful photo published by Finn42 who had the idea to create that "Jeep dame of the Day" thread in 2018.

This is a great thread! Just want to point out that the jeep in the 1st photo (Hood #20111667) is only 139 units away from my 42' GPW, based upon the Hood Estimator. Would be neat to find out where this photo was taken and if other jeeps (including mine :D ) were delivered to the area to support the war effort.

Here is the 1st photo caption:
Fort Sill, Oklahoma. 1942.
31st Infantry Div. 167th Rgt. 3rd Bat.
Jeep RN 20111667.

Funny, here is the same jeep. That photo shows a different color.

Looking at the two photos...I noticed the relation between the U.S.A and the lower numbers look identical...The leading edge of the first 6 lines up with the leading edge of the "A".
If the vehicle had been repainted, would the relationship stay the same after that repaint the numbers.

Similar discoloration of the sidewall on the rear tire.

My guess, not repainted, just different photos...the difference could by caused by different camera, film type, exposure settings (back when everything was manually set), different film or even storage of the prints.

Anyone else remember Postal Jeeps back in '50's & '60's? Seemed prevalent when I was a kid.

Don't remember carriers like this one. Or outfits either.
