FIT FOR A GENERAL
2018 MV season is here, parades and displays are in order.
Fit for a General? I kinda think so. The General was impressed.
Some items in the photos that are nice to have.
The rear seat back is a NOS GPW from WWII Stock. I could not find a NOS MB seat back at the time.
The ORD 7721446 Top Cover, part of the ORD 5701207 Post War Enclosure Kit.
The LF Wheel and Spare Wheel were installed NOS, LF Tire is from a quantity of new Goodyear NDT's purchased from GANS back in 71 to install on this Jeep.
Spare Tire is like new WWII issue Armstrong.

Exhaust outlet for the Post War Stewart Warner 978 Gasoline Personnel Heater Kit. What's neat about the top is that I have had it off and on many times since around 1972 and sometimes it is 4 or 5 years between installations and it does not shrink the least bit.
The canvas appears heavier than on the A-3216.

Re: FIT FOR A GENERAL
Your jeep is fit for a General, you keep all your vech;s fit for a General.
Here's my 12 o'clock high jeep, thought I would try it for a while, but I don't want to take the rope off or the gun mount out, plus I don't have enough AAF items to add to the marking's, so these marking's wont last to long, just thought I'd try it.

Re: FIT FOR A GENERAL
It's beautiful , GI, and it's kept so neat, all that's missing is the flight crew and a B-17. I had a dear friend that spent the entire 306th BG ETO tour as an armorer, his highlight was a B-17 flight over Europe at the end of the war to view the damaged targets. I do have WWII Summer Flying coveralls that are as new and worn by my Uncle Max when his , 39th TCS, 317th Troop Carrier Group (JUNGLE SKIPPERS) made the drop on Corregidor.
I see the bottle opener, my uncle told of throwing out the empty Coke bottles from the C-47's, they made a eerie noise that bothered the Japanese.

Thanks for the reply Ben, the heater on my jeep is to breathe on my hands. The weather here is much warmer now, so i can stop breathing.

Re: FIT FOR A GENERAL
One plus for the ORD 7721446 Top is that its' heavier construction lends to less flapping on those 45MPH Jeep rides.

Re: FIT FOR A GENERAL
As with other posts on this particular Jeep, I'll second that this Jeep is indeed a beauty. I look at your Jeep every time I boot up my laptop. Notice a slight change on the bumper markings.
I also noticed the pistol belt with a night stick.
My son-in-law is in the Military Police, and that looks like something they might have carried.
He is close to retirement, and while we were visiting them on base last Spring he bought his buddy a plastic replica of the 1805 Harpers Ferry Pistol for his buddy's retirement party. They sell those things in the PX. A crossed pair of the 1805 is on the symbol for the Military Police. I have built those, and other flintlocks before, and am currently in the process of building a pair to present him on his retirement, except these, unlike the plastic models they sell at the PX, will actually fire if he decides to do so. Nothing quite like the boom of a 54 caliber pistol.

My Uncle Jacob was an MP at Hamilton Field during WWII. There are two night sticks in the MB, the longer has US on the grip end.

There is a NOS WWII issue TL-122D Flashlight in the glove box, it is a gift from Memphis Equipment in Chambersburg about 40 years ago.
