Willys MBs -GPWs in Storage Lot ?
Hello,
Here is an interesting photo of Jeeps parked in an open air storage yard.
It looks to be an army depot, as I see Dodges, and other things there ? Click to enlarge !! These jeeps have some preservation methods displayed like cellophane over the glove box doors,
horn buttons wrapped, USA numbers sprayed with a wax type preservative ?
Also note, mirrors turned down and wrapped .
No fire extinguishers, no seat cushions at all, only a spare rim attached on mount, without a tire.
I haven't ever seen this particular photo before, and also note the grills covered in something to keep the weather out .
Not to mention many jacked up on cinder blocks !!!
Very interesting , maybe you can notice additional things, or can add info about this picture ?
What are we looking at ??
Brand new Jeeps, already being left out in the elements !!!!
Best Regards,
Ray

MB's looking at the nearest top bow or do my eyes deceive me? Late production as late light switch.
Interesting photo.

All of the windshields are down on the ones facing "front to back" and up on the ones facing "side to side".
They sure did a nice job on getting the windshield wipers in the same position - even those with the windshields down.

Hood numbers are not sequential.

Could it be a photo taken before the veteran sale in the Columbus Depot, Ohio. 2000 jeeps were for sale?
The jeeps were also sitting on blocks
