I was looking at the Nat. Archives site and saw a few jeeps in this photo :
Invasion of Cape Gloucester, New Britain, 24 December 1943. Crammed with men and material for the invasion, this Coast Guard-manned LST nears the Japanese held shore. Troops shown in the picture are Marines

Interesting photo , I see the jeeps with the tops up all have a central seam in the top - is that Willys or Ford ? One for Farrell Fox maybe ?

For some reason Farrell's answer has been deleted - I hope he doesn't mind me saying that his answer to my question was that MB tops had a central seam and the GPW'S had two side seams due to the width of material used (he did give sizes but I did not take note of them) . So to round up - the Jeeps in the photo have Willys tops.
