Nice! Thanks for sharing! All my old stomping grounds! We used to live in Cal-City. Right in the middle of all that. One of my favorite trips was Barker Ranch out of Ballarat. Lots of memories in that desert.

Hey Bill
WE LOVE THE DESERT,
Red rock canyon and cal city has so many places to explore, and going up to ronsberg is like time machine back to 1890
this week we are doing something crazy, we gonna take the Humvee to furnace creek and experience 130 Fahrenheit, I think Humvee will survive , but I am not sure about us 🤪🤪

My respects to you sir, that little vehicle looks so much fun,
I did the last chance canyon in the Humvee as well it’s not an easy trail for average 4x4 , and during the crossing I came across damaged Nissan truck and 3 stranded ppl.
I end up towing them out all the way to the end.

The passenger lady in the Nissan told me, (( we have been here for the last 3 hours trying to get out I never been happier to see a hummer in my life ))

Lol because hummer saved there a$$

Also a video of my water crossing in the Humvee
😁

Awesome! Second video at 29 second mark, top of Last Chance Canyon towards the talc mine and Burro Schmidt?

That Nissan got in way over its head!

Bill you for sure know the area extremely good 😉 yes at 29 I was right on top of the last chance canyon 😁

The problem with last chance canyon it, it’s starts as beautiful scenic drive then gradually it turns into extreme off-road at that point people are already too late to dip in it
And no turn around place 🤷‍♂️ For last chance canyon you need a very wide high clearance truck like a hummer or narrow tiny truck like your vehicle,
Anything like An average pick up truck gets stuck in between the rocks.

And that canyons land scape and rocks change every time it rains,

Have you been to Death Valleys echo canyon or still pass ?
This video is from echo canyon

I have a little over 200.000 miles on the Humvee now, I drove from Lancaster to idaho on off road trails, 12 day overland.

I have not been out to Death Valley in years.

Have you been up to the Barker Ranch (Charlie Manson's old hideout) interesting place back in there. The canyon leading in is narrow and has tight turns but once you get up past the canyon it opens up. One of the first things you see is a full size school bus! How they got that through there is a mystery for sure. There's an M35 or variant up there too.

You are correct there is an old m35 there, I believe that trail is also known as chicken corner,
Hummer fits just barley technical sections are top part.

Hummer did it without even blinking,

No, I have a 1943 Ford GPW. She also not really a garage Queen :)!
I like your way of traveling with your Humveee.
In the past, our family was traveling like you in an ISUZU Trooper long frame, with my home on the roof.
