More pictures
I got this Humvee in terrible condition and wanted to build daily driver and it’s was accomplished.

Super reliable vehicle, 12 volt Toyota setup,
Manual glow plug heater system
H1 6.5 TD
4l80e with stand alone controller.

This Humvee is not for those who drive 40 miles in a year and complain why I have put Toyota seats, or Mercedes electricals or Ford parts.
I plan on driving 50k miles a year this year.

That's a nice truck. I like it !
Can you give more information on that tent that you can deploy on your truck.
Is that sold in the US?
That's a cool camping solution.
I have an original and rare tent like that was made by the Germans after WWII: the Touricamp
We had a lot of pleasure with that Touricamp installed on my Isuzu Trooper (long frame), while we were traveling with our 4 kids :)!

It deploys in an eye click and you can remove it from the roof and install it quickly on the ground.
Last time I've used it was on a monospace van.

It is like this.... with a very heavy steel structure. (original folder from 1955)

I don't dare anymore to install such a heavy structure on a modern car, other than 4X4.
I believe that another similar concept is made in Italy. I've seen one used by the competitors of the Paris-Dakar raid.
Could you tell me if yours is sold in the USA? Is that heavy? I guess it's made in aluminum.

Thanks

Most of us drive Jeeps that are over 70 years old. Get back to us when yours is 70 + years old and let us know if you're still putting 20000 miles a year on it

Kind sir, 46 horse power Land Rover crossed continents without issues, that 70 year old Jeep is probably more reliable than new cars. Age of the vehicle has nothing to do if somebody wants to drive it everywhere and enjoy it

I love that picture of the trooper.

Tent I have on my Humvee is universal rooftop tent, I made the rack myself, it bolts on the bed, and roof tent is made to bolt on top of any roof rack,
Yes they sale those tents in USA, now they are very popular.

You missed my point. As I said 70+ year old vehicle generally do not run 20,000 miles a year and while they can be daily drivers, it is NOT the norm. Sure, jeeps did many remarkable things in their day. But their day was 70 years ago. If I put 2K a year on mine that will be a lot.

I think the only downside of the older Jeep would be the speed, isn’t it 43mph top speed ?
But seriously how can someone see one driving and not be amazed by how little and beautiful it is.
