7.00-16 ndt tires, where to buy in these crazy times?

Post by STIGY » Mon Dec 27, 2021 10:25 am

Helo everyone, I am a 30 plus year collector/restorer of military vehicles.
I recently picked up a nice m38 and want to put it back to 700-16 ndt tires.
Being that I haven't bought any of that size in quite some time and in these crazy times I am looking for info on who has the latest best deal/business experience?
I am willing to explore any brand.
thanks in advance for the leads.

Hi Stigy,
I've had good luck with these guys and their tires. Fast, free shipping. The price is about as good as it's going to get today.
Btw, I'm pretty sure the M38 came from the factory with NDCC tires, but maybe the Army used NDT's if they had to while in service.

NDCC's https://www.ebay.com/itm/191538033633?h ... SwDGJd2WQ5

The NDT's are a little bit cheaper: https://www.ebay.com/itm/181678723374?h ... SwW4ZfPo1k

And the tubes have the special TR15CW offset stems...some here https://www.petestirestore.com/700x16-t ... _6335.html

Good luck!

I bought those from 3910ppplus. The Army used NDCC. Worst tire ever made. Second worse was NDT. We used them on everything for a couple of decades after good all season radials were in civilian use. I asked why, when I worked at TACOM. Answer: the Army didn't ask for anything different. For those who have not been to the field with them, your jeeps and trucks will get stuck, and will slide off snow covered roads. Hence the issuance of chains. It always amazed me when I was watching it happen. And my civilian car had radials on it and never got stuck.
Of course all my restorations have them, except my Dodges which have Michelin radials. And my WM300. Even my WC63 has 6 of them; 900x16 Michelin. (Change 1: make that 7!)
But for your M38; 700x16 NDCC.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone. I wound up ordering from Summit yesterday. (just tires) I waited to this week as I am on vacation, and they went up $21.00 per tire from last week. Bigger sizes went up 40.00 per tire. So, if anyone is looking to buy, don't drag your feet like me. lol
