12V gages with Douglas connectors
Looking for a set of v12 gages for my 1952 M38. When it was converted to 12V only the fuel gage was replaced. Thinking easiest replacement would be to have gages with the Douglas connectors. Or am I wrong in using the same wires?

Wires are fine but I don't know where you can find a 12 volt gauge with douglas connector.

Re: 12V gages with Douglas connectors
I have never seen 12V gauges with Douglas connectors.
My M38 is 12V now. When I did the electrical system I installed a 12V to 24V convertor in the now empty cowl battery box. I did not disturb anything on my mint wiring harness either. I picked up power for the convertor at the connection that normally fed the gauges. And returned the 24V power to the instrument panel where the wire came off that fed them. So the only thing that is 24V in mine currently is the gauges, works great. I have a 12V coil in the original waterproof distributor. The tell tale give away is the alternator, but Oh well, it is reliable and I can get parts at the local parts store. Not to mention far better headlights.

Thanks for the idea on the converter. What converter / brand did you use? Always like to use a product that has been proven to be successful

Just a cheapie off of eBay. Three years on and working fine. 10 amps is overkill, but that affects nothing,
Search for 24V to 12 V convertor 10 amp. Check closely as they also make 24V to 12V that look just the same, but you don't want that type, you want 12 -> 24V

Re: 12V gages with Douglas connectors
So I am finally getting to tackle my gages. I wanted to verify the wire number / circuit you placed your 12V to 24V convertor on. Was it circuit 27? The instrument panel to ignition switch.
Thank you
