Engine or block needed
Just discovered I have an early CJ-5 block for my M38a1 build. Looking for a complete engine or bare block. Not date or serial number sensitive but have a late '52 body and title. Prefer somewhere near Central Virginia but would consider paying shipping for the right price.

You are not too far from Aberdeen, MD and that big parts show is next weekend. Maybe there will be something there. Just a thought. John

John- Thanks! I would love to make it up unfortunately it won’t be this year. I’m sure it’s quite the place to be.

I have a complete Hurricane 4 that I need to move. I purchased this from a young fellow going radical. PM me if interested.

I have MC12390, which was running when I pulled it out of my 44 GPW about 4 years ago. It has a rebuild tag from 3-7-73 which shows std .010 .010 I'm not sure of the date of the block

Re: Engine or block needed
Now that i am reading this over, you have a M38A1, thats a MD motor, yea? You want something with the military serial number then and not the cj5 jeep engine serial number. Correct?

Re: Engine or block needed
Yes. I would prefer to ditch the CJ motor for a true military motor if possible. I had heard that some of the engine accessories don't fit the MD blocks. Not sure how true that is.

Re: Engine or block needed
Sir, did your ever find your M38A1 engine?
I have an orig with 13k on odometer. Not frozen or converted to 12v. It's very much complete, however, I live in Hawaii. You are welcomed to it, but the shipping cost would be astronomical.
