WTB: M38A1 hot water heater
Hi All,
I am looking for the early hot water heater (full kit or parts).
This is the heater with the water tubes coming out from the side. See pictures.
Thanks,
Dave

Re: WTB: M38A1 hot water heater
There is nothing wrong with the later hose arrangement, it is correct for M-38A1. Only reason I have the early is that I bought some kits in the late 50's-early 60's and saved a couple. I might have an earlier heater box with the core, can't guarantee the condition of the core. Time does not stand still the early heater are 60 years old and these are a popular accessory.
It will be a couple weeks before I can check.

Re: WTB: M38A1 hot water heater
Thanks Joel.
I am restoring my M38A1 with the intention of it being a freshly delivered 1952 jeep. If you do happen to find an early heater you have to sell, I would appreciate you letting me know.
Also, on the late heater that I do have the mounting tray is different than what I have seen in pictures of the early ones.
With the exception of a couple replacement floor panels, the wiring harness, canvas, black cadmium plating on the hardware, and paint, the jeep is almost entirely original or NOS parts. That's why I am looking for the early parts and not the military upgrades.
Thanks,
Dave

Re: WTB: M38A1 hot water heater
I have an early heater box w/core. Need a few days. Will check the fender mount difference on my spare heater parts. I seem to remember that some Kits used the heater mounting plate for the M-38A1 Gas heater installation with the hole for the heater exhaust. Same Plate, extra hole.

Hey Dave. Don't know if you found the heater parts yet, but Brent Mullins had some complete kits. Not sure if early or not.

Thanks. I saw the kits he has. They are not the one I am looking for. Appreciate the heads up.
