M38 master cylinder support

Post by Enrico » Sat Sep 16, 2023 12:46 pm

Dear All,

Looking for an M38 brake master cylinder support on frame.
I agree that'not fair to cut it out from a frame but in case somebody had a scrap donor frame would be great.

Thanks

Enrico

Are you referring to where the master cylinder mounting bolts screw into?

Yes, exactly. Basically it's part of the left frame welded reinforcement plate/side member P/No. WO-805575 / 8677420.

Perhaps you could make one? I don't have an M38 to measure one for you but hopefully someone will be able to do that for you.

I have 3 M38s and will take pictures and measure for you; let me know. I can't cut any of them out though!

If it helps: http://willysmjeeps.com/v2/modules/gall ... .sized.jpg

The frame is boxed one piece from the master cylinder mount all the way to the front bumper.
It's flush to the frame except where the master cylinder mounts, which is formed and sticks out proud of the frame about 1/2-inch as seen in the photo.

Not sure what measurements you want.

And tucked inside the frame on the steering gear bolts is a reinforcing spacer, listed in the ORD9 on page 268, G740-7375339, WO-647089, Spacer, Steering Gear to Frame Bolt.

I don't think he wants the measurements; he wants the iron.

Sorry. I was thinking fabrication.
I'm glad somebody knows what he wants.
He probably didn't need the photo either
