Just an FYSA:
In order for it to fit/drive down the road in a MB/GPW/CJ

The extra side bolt pattern web on the back of the block will need grinding away (covers the timing hole on the transmission plate)
The Flywheel will require change out (to many teeth)
The starter has to match the new flywheel (too many teeth)
The front double pulley will go away (Single on jeeps)
The intake manifold needs to be swapped for a larger volume MB/GPW/CJ manifold (Smaller more efficient for single RPM use is on it now)

The governor assembly can be scrapped (unless there is a need for it for an aircompressor model, but I'm not sure they are identical either.)

It works....just needs some work to make it work, mines running just fine in my GPW for years now.

I put 2 of them in my empire tractors, they work, the motor mount ears pointed the same way, I was lucky, did not have the big block web and correct intakes for the jeep were already on them. If only I had a reason to go out there, Scrap is only $.07 a pound here and $.10 for copper bearing so would only get $80 bucks here from the scrapper, and $30 for the stripped radiator, and even less for anything over 4 feet in length.

Appears to be a Hobart "Mainliner" circa the late 50's, earlir Jeep powered Hobarts were the "Pipeliner"series.

While I was out in MO, this came back home for the ride. I need another Engine for a empire tractor and this may work.
Its not the typical mainliner or pipeliner. They are pretty much pure DC generators . This is a G-310. Its AC and DC so its not really a generator, more of an alternator. Anyway, the generator portion Uses the big stud silicon rectifier diodes in her along with a big inductor to give it a rippled DC output.

Engine casting starts with a 9. this engine has the big web and extra bolt holes like the later M38 engines. I have front pulley pointers so It can be timed from the front pulley. Has the correct big runner intake on it. Hobart machines the original willys flywheel so the generator rotor centers in it so that will be of no use. Starter is more like the 5's cj5 type than of the earlier MB,2A or 3A types

Engine is safe inside now, it was 12*F Friday morning, Top hose had long broken loose, Antifreeze in block was as good as new. Will try and figure out why this engine has a early cj2A head on her and a CJ2a tag under the distributor when that engine block dates way after CJ2A production end.

I have the exact same engine L134 908756 casting. Many improvements over MB 2A engines. 908756 was the last of the L134 series
