Another PU 58

Post by Adam » Tue Oct 15, 2019 7:25 pm

Needed a reason to go out to MA. and find this genset. Spent the weekend out on Cape Cod and picked her up on the way back. She was for sale for 6 months and nobody wanted her. Dropped in an old 6 volt battery and she fired right up. MB engine from 12-44. Now who owns the WWll jeep under the tarp in Wellfleet? by the big white building with the flag out front, along with the duck in the closed gas station on RT6?

Adam, I have a special place in my heart for W.W. 2 generators, and air compressors from then to current year. I found a P.E. 197 for my Ben Hur trailer that had been in an old boys' basement with his (WORKING) W.W. 2 radio collection. He showed me photos of himself in the So. Pacific where he was a Signal Corps. Radio-Man. He told me that he didn't really want to sell it, but couldn't perform the maintenance required to keep it any longer. I did the same thing with it as you did with your PU-58.
That is SOOO awesome that you now have two of them. NOW, you know that you have a responsibility to keep them from having their engines yanked out for some banged up old Jeep ! RIGHT!?!?? :)
