PU-58 Parts for free. Must go this week!

Post by jeep-a-holic » Fri May 10, 2019 10:39 pm

Hey all,
I bought this generator to snag the engine out of because it’s the right date for my MB. I do not need any of the parts for it, so I’m offering it for free, you just got to pick it up. Items are located in Santa Maria, California. What you see is what you get. It comes on a trailer, but the axle is bent, so you will need to put it on a trailer. We can help you load it up. PM me for more info!

Can you post pics of the front on the radiator (front) panel?

Sure thing. I’m out of town so it will be a couple days before I can.

That unit is a PU-58 and not a PE-95. The exhaust outlet is on top next to the lifting eye and the battery ray is on the bottom frame and there is usually no hole in the adapter plate for a starter on a PE-95.

Thanks for the info! I had no idea. The dataplate is hard to read. Regardless, it’s free for the taking

They do look almost identical, the only reason I noticed it's a PU-58 is that I own one. Nice parts, very generous of you to give away, good thing I live so far from you, I'd take it all home!

Hi,

Would you be interested in selling the spring loaded fasteners that hold on the sheet metal side panels? My PE-95 is missing some.

Let me know and thanks,

Tim

1 of the top covers is shorter too. Notice it in one of the pictures, Only fits the PU and the N15. Had a tough time finding one when I needed it. Looks like all the wiring got removed for the VR and controls. I wonder how they rewired it? Was there a generator and VR on it?

Anyway how did you get the rotor to come out of the stator that far?

Tim, send me a PM.

This thing needs to go this week! I don’t have room in the shop and I have a Jeep that needs restoration.

Someone come get it!
