PE95 With a GPW Engine

Post by Adam » Fri Nov 09, 2018 5:25 am

I don't think this one is repairable or restorable without lots of $$$$ so I bought her for the engine.
Left her out in the field for a week till the mouse traps did their job. What a bad smelling unit.

Most of the hardware is wrong, all the heavy nuts were replaced with standard nuts. front panel is rusted through on the bottom. Wiring insulation is all but gone. No panels, no tops. Havent looked for the serial number yet.

Back to working on this again, Pulled out a bell housing and starter, will get some compression test results, see if maybe she will run.

PE95 K genset

Post by Dr Deuce » Thu Jun 11, 2020 2:12 pm

I just picked up a PE95 K genset
The data plate says Phila 51-11. Does that mean it was made in Nov 1951?
The sn is 1404

It has the waterproof ignition like M-series gas engines, but because it is made to run on 12 volts, does that make the enclosed coil special?
