L134 Industrial Engine Question

Post by signsup » Tue Aug 13, 2019 1:21 pm

What the heck do I do with it? Picked up two CJ2A's and one CJ3A to end up with one Sarge jeep. The 3A has a Supersonic head on the L134 and has a carb on it and looks like we can get it running. One 2A has a "normal" L134 on it and I'll keep it as a spare depending on if we can get it running. The other 2A has this industrial engine that I presume is more fitting for a compressor or generator. I don't want to spend a lot of time and small parts to get it running if I have no use for it. I don't know what the rareness or scarcity of these engines are so I don't want to just scrap it. It apparently will run a jeep, I don't know enough about them to know if it has the unique intake manifold and carb to allow it to run at lower idle speeds or it it has been Bubba'd up to run a farm jeep.

I can take and post photos if needed. But off the top of your head, what would you do with this engine?

Any help appreciated.

I am under the impression that only the head is different than a standard vehicle engine. If yours runs, or could run, I would just swap the head out.

FWIW, I had an industrial engine rebuilt that came out of a genset. Everything was standard internally. I never measured the industrial head when I removed it so I don't really know the technical difference with the heads.
