M38A1 12V Fuel Sending Unit

Post by delta31 » Thu Mar 16, 2023 9:53 am

Jeep is 12 Volt but not fully converted. I had bought a 12V sending unit for a CJ2A that does fit on the tank though likely clocked wrong.
Has anyone here extended the float lever rod so that would go down unit the sump portion of the fuel tank? If so how did you extend it?

Have not not come across anything written that the 24V sender can be made to work with 12V. Is it the case that it can't be done?

I understand that I will need to get a 12V Gauge.

It is interesting that I think I have seen Oil Pressure gauges that have resistors so they can work on 24, 12 and 6 Volts

Thanks in advance for any comments.
