Choke & Throttle knob decals needed

Post by AFM38A1 » Thu Sep 08, 2022 7:57 pm

Restoring my M38A1.
The hand throttle and choke knobs have worn and been oversprayed.
So, to keep them looking stock, I'd like to remark them.
So anyone offer decals?

I understand that you can't simply replace the knobs, as they are attached to their cables. Correct?

Never seen decals for that although not a totally bad idea, until they wear off.
The knobs are attached to steel tubes that are crimped onto the wires. Those can be replaced, but I don't know where to get them.
Best solution; get new cables assemblies.

By the time one has decals custom made, it will be cheaper to get new cables.
Thanks.

my cable handles had the letters engraved into them. I just rubbed white chalk into them and they looked great for years.

Also...
Some Vendors offer replacements with green knobs, others black.
Which is correct for an early (1955) M38A1?
