Thoughts on DIY Air Crossover Tube

Original Military Air Cleaner

Please share your thoughts on this idea. I am putting back together the PCV valve and line to the intake manifold.
To deal with the vent hose coming off the oil filler tube, I have been thinking about making a short cross over tube
from from some light gauge steel pipe and welding in a nipple to attached the vent hose on the oil filler tube.
This DIY crossover tube would be mounted between the air cleaner and carb air horn.

Would it be better to buy an original cross over tube than to make one?

I have a wicked amount of moisture in the fill tube with out this stuff hooked up.

Thanks

Muffler tubing the same size. If they are different sizes at each end a muffler shop can bell one side to fit. The correct intake crossover would be best.

Either way works. I go original as much as possible.

The A1 crossovers are much easier to source. 25 bucks should net you one. Do you have the 24V system still? If so that crossover tube plays an important role in getting ionized air and moisture out of the distributor.
