Is this block now history or can it be fixed? Looks like its cast in to me...

Sure they are replaceable; look in your TM9-8015 and it will tell you all about how; you make a stepped punch and pound them out, or you make a puller and pull them out. Do a search of this site and you will find much more info on that. You can't work on these vehicles without a complete set of TMs/pubs; it is mandatory. Get the Civilian Jeep Universal manual too.
Of course on the F head, only the exhaust ones are in the block.
However, you might want a machine shop to do it if you aren't mechanically inclined; don't want to break something.
But the valve guides are routinely replaced on rebuild of the engine, Oh, and then you might have to ream them to fit the valve stem.
Never scrap a WW2 block; they can be fixed no matter what; mostly.
