Afternoon all , new to the forum , just purchased my wife a 1953 M38a1 in excellent shape all orig , one repaint no rust , info plate is on the dash but missing behind the passenger seat on wheel well , definitely a 53 from everything l been reading , VIN is F200189 , wandering if someone can shine some light on info , where it was made ? Canadian ? And so on , thanks l can post pics if anyone is interested?

Sure post pics. Always glad to see clean examples. Now if I purchased an M38A1 for my wife she likely would shoot me!

Welcome; If I bought my wife a jeep she would make me live in it. And 30 years ago she used to drive them all the time; now she won't go near one.
Vehicles made in 1953 do not have VINs; those weren't in until the 1980s. They have serial numbers.

Please post pictures of your 1953 Jeep !!

I have a 1953 M38A1 as well that I am working on right now.
Pretty original shape still, several military repaints.
No rust, and I hope to have her started soon as I work on the fuel lines, and gas tank.
They are very nice, often overlooked, Military Jeeps !!!
