came across this photo. looks like a rear view the m170 prototype jeep. Has some sort of clamp on the left rear to hold the drivers side stretcher in place. front fender looks like the prototype version. also, a simple strap holding the upper rack from the top bows.

That is a really great picture of the way the M170 was used by the Army. I have 1953 M170 that research shows was used by the Marines Corps. Been hunting high and low for a picture of a Marine radio jeep and a passenger jump seat. Thanks for posting

M170 is leaking gas around the grommet for the filler tube. Any ideas of how to replace the grommet? Almost bought a used tank a while back, but jus had mine reconditioned. Thanks......

what grommet are you asking about? there is no grommet around the gas filler neck on the m170 that I know of. picture?

It is the grommet that where the filler neck connects the the tank.

th filler neck is welded to the tank. no grommet there that i know of
