That's an Alabama state flag on the driver front corner in the first photo and that appears to be George Wallace in the second photo. Would love to see in higher resolution if you're willing to E-mail them to me.

Looks like George and the Missus in the first two jeeps and the Alabama Guard Generals are behind him. Probably "The Governor's Jeep" would have been a better title to use.

These are just Army National Guard Jeeps spruced up for ceremonies with white cotton slip covers and safety rails to enable one to safely stand while reviewing the troops. The drivers were usually hand picked for appearance and military bearing.

No, but I noticed the "Porta Walls" The Wheel Covers were offered by Cutlas in Stainless Steel or Chrome Plating, and were offered in 15" and 16". A set of 4 killed $20.00 in 1960.

November 4, 2009 - NEW SHIPMENT HAS JUST ARRIVED! ALL SIZES LISTED ARE IN STOCK.

A PORTAWALL SET CONSISTS OF 4 PIECES

Portawalls, sometimes called slap-ons, Mickies, fake white walls, etc, available in a variety of wheel sizes and widths were originally designed to work on bias ply tires some 50 years ago, not today's radials. Bias tires have a flat rigid sidewall, and a much higher profile (aspect ratio) than radial tires. There is a lesser likelihood of them adhering properly to a radial because of the radius and flexibility of it's sidewall. The lower the profile of a radial, the less likely you will be pleased with the results. Larger radials with a 75 profile seem to work fairly well, but we do not recommend trying them on many of today's popular 60 profiles and smaller. For radials, we suggest the narrower widths, so they won't extend beyond the radius of the sidewall.

To me it looks like the first Jeep with the fake whitewalls looks like it is riding level.

The next ones in the lineup look like they have the drives side spring sag going on.

In the Army was there any set way to correct the drivers side sag or was it a fact that was lived with?

As Zack points out look closely the leaners have two guys on the left and one on the right. The more level first one has a girl and guy on the left and a guy on the right.

Since the left and right springs are identical there is no adjustment in spring rates to help with any lean issue. since the engine is offset to the left, the gas tank is on the left and the driver is on the left there is a tendency to be heavy on that side even with the batteries, spare tire and transfer biased to the right. Over the years the rate of spring sag will be heavier on the springs carrying the most weight.

A friend of mine who was in the Ala Guard told me that he saw a jeep in a warehouse when his unit was helping clean out Ft. McClellan years ago, said it had shiny paint, chrome wheels and grab rails. He was told it was the post parade jeep. Sounds like maybe the same one.

I recently bought a A1 off eBay a few months ago, it has the original paperwork that says it came from, the 463d MP Company EG, or escort guard. We are going to restore it to the specs of military police ( or whatever it was). I learned some history and believe it may have been brought back to the states after its time in (from what I’ve heard) Shweinfurt, Germany with the company. It has been painted many times, but it still has glimpses of the white paint on the bumpers showing, and glimpses of non readable stencils. We did sand down and find the hood numbers “201000762”. The serial number is #MD50121I believe it was a generals jeep, due to it having the holes for antennas on both sides, holes for a radio on the wheel well, and glimpses of shiny OD paint over the factory OD. I can email you pictures of the Jeep. I am trying to figure out history on this Jeep. I can find little things about the company, if anyone has any info PLEASE let me know, I have looked in lots of places. It seems quite rare.
