Wes, Ron gave me the switch and I bought the pigtails from Joe Hall at VWOM (30 bucks). Wouldn't you know..I just found a good working switch with pigtails at Tower Park last weekend for 5 bucks I'm still looking for the round ON OFF plate for it.
BTW..Did those brake springs ever get to you?..if so, what do you think of them?

Mike,
I still am in Coast Guard Aviation. I'm at the Training Center here in NC now. 19 months 'til Uncle Sugar pays my mortgage.
How did you do your taillights? Does your new harness utilize your right rear light bucket for brakes, tail, and signals? Or did you have to install a left bucket on the right side?
I still have my brass plate, but all the paint is worn off. The letters and borders may be raised enough, and the plate flat enough, so that I can paint the whole thing, then try to rub face on some crocus or fine grit to get the letters back.
Thanks...
Dave

Dave, I haven't got to the rest of the harness in yet. Just doing a frame on 'rebuild' for now. I want to clean up the frame, bottom, fire wall and engine and get them painted before I start putting in the harness, fuel and brake lines and exhaust system, so I don't junk them up. For now I'm keeping the lights all stock.

Re: M38a1 ignition switch wiring
I'm a bit confused regarding the ignition switch wiring.
I'm pre-wiring the chassis with a VWM harness that I bought a few years ago
I want to make sure I've got everything accounted for and all the connections made before I start the body assembly. To that end, I'm not sure how the ignition switch should be wired.
From this and other threads, the consensu seems to be:
Circuit 11 pigtails to A & C
Circuit 85 goes to D (I have a heater that will be going back in).
That leaves me with 12 & 27.
Do circuits 12 & 27 pigtail to B
