Rear axle: grease fittings to be removed

You can leave the grease fittings installed.
There was an Army bulletin to install plugs because some drivers were lubricating the rear wheel bearings too often and blowing the seals, installing plugs was meant to discourage that. I do mine every 3-4 years or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Just a reminder that the M-38 and M-38A1 Rear Wheel Bearings have to be sparingly lubricated. Check your Lube Order for proper interval.
