M38A1 and winches

Post by steven ellis » Mon Aug 05, 2019 8:19 pm

I need to know if m38a1 were ever delivered with front winches? Did the data plates reflect it? Anyone know numbers produced in 53 with winches. Was the Ramsey r50 factory installed or different model? Help is appreciated

To my knowledge M38A1's probably were not delivered with a winch.....my guess would be they were available as a field mod depending on need....there are pictures in the manual ORD 9 SNL G-758 which shows the entire winch assembly including mounting frame.

I have a Ramsey 8000 on my M38A1. I don't think it is the original winch though because someone told me the original was a Ramsey 5000.
I've got images of my winch if you're interested. I don't know how to post pictures but could learn if you want to see them.

The original winch was a Ramsey 50. And yes the data plates reflected it. Jim

I'd like to see the pictures so if I see one somewhere I can pick it up.

To post pictures, click on the Attachments tab below the POST A REPLY area. You can then click the Add Files button to search your drives for the image (or other file type I assume) or you can drag the image into the message area.

After adding the image to the Attachments area, you have the option of either having them end up at the bottom of the post or you can place them in-line by putting your cursor where you want the file and clicking the Place Inline button.
