M-38/M-38A1 HORN SOUND.

Post by Ben Dover » Sun Jun 23, 2019 3:55 pm

Does anyone who served in the 50's thru 60's Army who has driven a stock M-38/M-38A1 remember that the M-38/M-38A1 had a different sound than the horns on the M-37?

My 52 M38A1 has a muffled horn compared to a M37, that was bright and loud.

They are the same horns, both early (Autolite) version and later (Sparks Wellington). Should sound the same.

There are 3 configurations of that same AL-HX-4001 UT and the M-37's with original horns all seemed to have one sound. Maybe ir had to do with hanging from the hood.
