Great pictures, that bring back many memories. I was born and bred in Hatfield and remember watching some of the filming take place on the runway of the old DeHaviland aerodrome. It's now a housing estate, which is such a shame as another part of British aviation history has been lost forever.

The pics have disappeared. Are you able to repost them?
I run a Facebook group called “Saving Private Ryan behind the scenes”, which is for people who worked on the movie as actors, background, stunts, crew and for fans and collectors.
It would be great if you and he joined up and shared the pics and his experience working on.

I read somewhere that many of the German extras were members of a reenactor group. A few of them sported really short haircuts - not typical of the German military. What do any of you know of these reenactors and the parts they played ?
